Scandinavian Society of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine

The Scandinavian Society of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine was first adopted at a general meeting held in Gentofte, Copenhagen, on 13 June 1980.

The objects for which the Society was established were to promote scientific collaboration, to promote the publication of scientific work and to promote supplementary training and updating courses within the fields of clinical physiology and nuclear medicine in Scandinavia.

The Society is an association of the following national societies: Danish Society of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine, the Finnish Society of Clinical Physiology, the Swedish Society of Clinical Physiology, the Swedish Society of Nuclear Medicine, the Norwegian Society of Nuclear Medicine and the Finnish Society of Nuclear Medicine.

Professor Olli Raitakari, winner of the big prize for scientific achievement in 2007. Professor Olli Raitakari, born 1963 is professor of cardiovascular medicine at Turku University and chief physician at Dept. of Clinical Physiology, Nuclear Medicine & PET, Turku University Hospital, Finland. He has published over 200 peer-review articles of which 42 have been published last year with which he is ranking 7th among all Finnish medical scholars. [pdf]
